DELO gel batteries can withstand alternator charging voltages of up to 14.35 volts in a vehicle and can therefore very often be used as a replacement for standard or micro-fleece batteries! During winter storage, it is sufficient to connect them to a charger once every 8 weeks.

Please note the following guidelines, which will save you the trouble of having to push-start your bike and other such unpleasant tasks. If you can’t find the right battery for your vehicle right away, please use our product search in the bike database (top navigation bar). As a general rule, the correct battery type for your motorbike is specified by the manufacturer—if you’re not entirely sure, a quick look in the owner’s manual or at the label on your old battery is usually all it takes.

• What else you should know about gel starter batteries:

Maintenance-free gel batteries are completely sealed. Although batteries of this type are pre-charged, they must be fully charged before installation, and only special chargers—such as those in the ProCharger series—may be used for this purpose.

• IMPORTANT NOTE:

Before installation, please check that the battery fits in your vehicle (dimensions), that the terminals are in the correct position, and that the voltage (V) and capacity (Ah) are correct. Please read the package insert and the safety instructions it contains carefully.

GOOD TO KNOW:

• A battery type designation consists of several specifications that provide important information about the battery. These include, among other things, voltage, capacity, terminal position and number, venting, cranking current, and much more. The first letter indicates the respective manufacturer. For example, in YTX9‑BBk, the “Y” stands for Yuasa; in DTX9‑BBk, the “D” stands for Delo; and in LTX9‑BBk, the “L” stands for Louis Parts. Despite their different initial letters, all three battery types are technically identical and fit in the same vehicles.

• DELO gel batteries can withstand an alternator charging voltage of up to 14.35 volts in the vehicle and can therefore often—though not always—be used as a replacement for standard or micro-fleece batteries. It’s best to use a voltmeter on your vehicle to check how many volts the voltage regulator or alternator is supplying to your battery when you apply throttle while idling. We’ve made every effort not to list any gel batteries in the bike database for vehicles whose voltage output exceeds the 14.35-volt limit.

• Since gel batteries have a low self-discharge rate, it is sufficient to connect them to a charger once every 8 weeks during winter storage.

Warning: Never expose the starter battery to intense heat, such as direct sunlight, open flames, or similar sources. Do not use the battery in explosive environments or near flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Do not overcharge the battery, and use appropriate chargers. Keep the battery, as well as the small parts and packaging film included in the delivery, out of the reach of children, as there is a risk of suffocation. Never touch the terminals with metal objects, as this can lead to an electric shock or a short circuit. Ensure that the positive and negative terminals are connected correctly. Do not operate the battery if it shows visible damage. Never open the casing, and do not make any modifications to the battery or its accessories. The electrolyte contained in the battery is corrosive.
