The SMH5 Universal is a Bluetooth headset designed specifically for motorcyclists, featuring a Bluetooth intercom system with a maximum range of 700m (with 4 users) and many other functions that are very intuitive and easy to operate—even while wearing gloves—thanks to the ingenious JogDial rotary/press-stud button. With the SMH5, you can answer calls on your Bluetooth-enabled cell phone, listen to music in stereo or voice instructions from a GPS navigation device wirelessly via Bluetooth, and use the intercom system for full-duplex conversations with a passenger or other motorcyclists.
The SMH5 MultiCom was specifically designed to be easily attached to and detached from Helmetts. The quick-release clamping unit allows for fast and hassle-free attachment and subsequent intercom transmission, making it the ideal solution for motorbike training courses, tours, or rentals.

Intercom connection (requires at least 2 SENA SMH5 MultiCom units):
- Bike-to-bike intercom for up to 4 riders in shuttle mode (1:1) with a maximum range of 700m
- Rider-to-passenger intercom
- Intercom communication with headsets from other manufacturers (limited communication capabilities; the Sena headset is paired as a cell phone)
Cell Phone Connection:
- Voice-activated call acceptance and rejection (Vox technology)—your hands stay on the handlebars at all times
- Voice-activated call function or voice dialing (cell phone must support voice control)
- Can connect to 2 cell phones simultaneously
Navigation connection:
- Connects to compatible Bluetooth navigation devices (Bluetooth headset profile required) to transmit navigation instructions (e.g., Garmin zumo, TomTom Rider)
Additional features:
- Full-duplex connection: simultaneous speaking during intercom calls
- A2DP Bluetooth protocol for a wireless hi-fi connection to A2DP-compatible cell phones or MP3 players
- AVRCP function—for remote control of music playback (play, pause, fast-forward, rewind) on compatible cell phones or MP3 players

SENA has been developing and producing wireless Bluetooth communication systems for industry since 1998. As the company boss is a biker himself and was dissatisfied with the Bluetooth headsets from other manufacturers, Sena also began producing communication solutions for bikers in 2010. The devices developed from practical experience are already well established on the US market and have won numerous independent comparative tests, not least because they are extremely simple and intuitive to use. Even when wearing motorbike gloves, it's easy to find the ingenious JogDial/push button at full speed instead of having to search for lots of different buttons. We are pleased that we are now also able to offer sophisticated Sena communication systems in Germany.
